THE BEAUTY LOVER TAG

I saw this tag at Elle Girl's blog and I couldn't wait to do it. I love tags because I feel as though you guys can get to know me better. I love connecting with all of you and I want you to know who I really am.

1. If you could have anyone in the world do your makeup, who would it be?
This is a hard question because the list can go on and on! I watch Youtube a lot and there are so many lovely makeup artists that I would kill to beat this face! If I had to pick only one person, it would probably be Jaclyn Hill from Youtube. She is so bomb, her personality is perfect and her makeup always looks stunning!

2. What's your top makeup tip?
I have so many different makeup tips but one that I have personally been using a lot recently was applying nude eyeliner in the waterline of your eye. Applying nude eyeliner in the waterline of your eye has many different uses. It helps make your eyes appear bigger and it also helps you appear more awake and less tired. If you don't have a nude eyeliner, get one now and try this simple tip out.

3. What one makeup item could you not live without?
One makeup item that I could not live without is a concealer, hands down. My biggest insecurity is my dark circles that appear to get worse and worse everyday, haha. So, with any makeup look, a concealer is so necessary. When I don't have makeup on, I still am tempted to apply some concealer. A concealer helps you appear less tired and also brightens up your face.

4. What one skincare item could you not live without?
MOISTURIZER. Need I say more? A moisturized face is a happy face.

5. What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
Winged eyeliner, probably. I always have to work hard and slow at my winged eyeliner because if I don't, it will come out looking horrific. I've gotten much better over the years, but it still can use some work.

6. What's your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?
When someone's foundation doesn't match the color of their neck and you can see it's too dark or too light. It absolutely kills me!

7. What is your favourite makeup era?
Makeup has changed drastically throughout history. I love the 20's but I would honestly have to say that the makeup trends as of now are my favorite. I love the contoured and the heavily highlighted face.

8. What is your guilty pleasure product?
Is it bad that I don't have a guilty pleasure product? I regret nothing! Haha. If I had to choose, I absolutely love buying eye shadow palettes and no matter how many eye shadow palettes I have that looks similar, I am still willing to buy another one, which is crazy. You only really need two or three eye shadow palettes but let's not talk about my collection.

9. What's your underdog product?
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 hr Foundation. This foundation is one of the best foundations I own, drugstore or high-end. I can easily compare this foundation to $40-60 foundations but this is only $13. People don't give this foundation enough credit, but if you try it, you will fall in love. Pinky promise!

10. What's your favourite makeup product of 2015?
My favorite makeup product of 2015 is the Morphe 35O Palette from Morphe Cosmetics. You have probably heard of this many times, but for a good reason. This palette is right up my alley, filled with warm tones and neutrals. It has the best transition shades and is perfect for any season. These eye shadows are such great quality and the palette is such a steal. You should definitely try to get it when it's back in stock on their website.

I tag anyone who reads this post!! Do it now!

Do-It-Yourself Primer

I know how it feels to pick up a makeup product, see the price, feel shocked and then contemplate whether it is truly worth that pretty penny. Certain makeup products, I am more inclined to spend big bucks on than others. Personally, I would willingly spend more money on a foundation that I really wanted, than on a lipstick.

One makeup product that I very rarely spend a lot of money on is a primer. I know the importance of a primer in a makeup routine, however, I hate spending my money on something that I won't actually see. I know, I know, it is still important. But I always have to convince myself that it's worth it, so I usually opt for cheaper alternatives that are just as great as the high-end primers.

Glycerin is the main ingredient in primers and it is the one ingredient that I always look for when purchasing one. Glycerin is the ingredient that gives primers it's properties that we look for, such as moisturizing, smoothing and increasing the longevity of our makeup.

So, I decided to purchase a bottle of pure Glycerin in hopes to create my own primer. You can purchase Glycerin in any drugstore for relatively cheap. I mixed a small amount of glycerin in with my moisturizer and applied it to my face. I used three parts moisturizer and one part glycerin. I applied the primer and waited about 10 minutes before beginning to apply my foundation and the rest of my makeup.

I was very impressed with the results. I had my makeup on for about 9 hours before I took it off and the primer seemed to work like any other primer that I own and love. My makeup looked as it did when I applied it, my skin still seemed smooth and my pores looked small, almost non-existant. The foundation appeared flawless, like I just applied it and that is what I look for in a primer. Overall, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative for a primer and one that works well, you should definitely try this. Pick up any bottle of Glycerin and mix it in with your moisturizer and voila!

L'Oreal Brow Stylist Prep & Shape Pro Kit Review

As you guys may have noticed, I am a total sucker for new eyebrow products. I am always looking for another product to try. Eyebrows will frame your face and make a significant difference. Even with the most minimal makeup looks, having your eyebrows done can make others think you put in more effort than you did. With that being said, I am always looking for good drugstore eyebrow products.

The other day, I came across the L'Oreal Brow Stylist Prep & Shape Pro Kit. I haven't heard much about this product before so I decided to try it out for myself. The brow kit comes with pigmented wax and a setting powder. It also comes with a pair of tweezers, an angled brow brush and also a spoolie. I loved the fact that it came with these tools and even though they are small, they are great for traveling and when you are on-the-go.

I got the pro kit in the shade medium to dark, which was perfect for my face. The pigmented wax is the lighter shade in the kit and is meant to be dipped into with the angled brush. The setting powder is meant to be applied last, mainly to fill any gaps that you might have.

As far as my opinion goes, for a drugstore eyebrow product I am impressed. The tools that came with the kit are very helpful and come in handy. I like the eyebrow wax more than I like the setting powder. I found that the setting powder is slightly darker than I would like. If you appreciate a bold eyebrow, you would enjoy this kit very much. I focus the setting powder towards the ends of my eyebrows, where a dark color would be more appropriate. I am not entirely sold on it, but it is one of the better drugstore options.

The L'Oreal Brow Stylist Prep & Shape Pro Kit can be found anywhere L'Oreal is sold. It retails for $15 and can be bought here.

Have any of you tried this product? Comment your thoughts or opinions :)

Liebster Award: Get to Know Me

So, I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award twice, from Christine from Beauty in Your Eyes  and also from Sarah from Its Sarah Ann  I am so thankful that I’m even nominated, so thank you guys. I am so happy with my blog so far and I love interacting and meeting new bloggers. I think this is an awesome way to get to know a little more about me! Check them out, their blogs are lovely.

So, what is the Liebster Award?
It’s an award given to new and up and coming bloggers with a small following, generally less than 200 followers. It is a great way to connect new bloggers with each other, since sometimes it can be difficult to find new blogs. It means so much that I am recognized by other bloggers. Spreading the love people, spreading the love. Since I have been nominated twice, I’m not going to answer all of the questions but I will take some questions from both.

The rules for the Liebster Award are:
  1. You have to mention and thank the blog that nominated you in a blog post.
  2. You then have to answer the questions which were asked by the blog that nominated you.
  3. Then it's your turn to nominate 11 other new bloggers.
  4. You lastly have to set 11 new questions for your nominees to answer.

1. What is your biggest fear?

8 Ways to Fake 8 Hours of Sleep

Being a blogger currently in College can sometimes become somewhat stressful. Being a student, in general, can leave me with many sleepless nights. Waking up and feeling like you look like you've had a rough night is not the best way to start your day. One of my pet-peeves is when someone tells me, "Hey, you look tired." But, of course, I know this! Puffy, red eyes, dark under eye circles and dull skin are clear indicators that you haven't slept enough. But even though you haven't had a good night sleep, that doesn't mean you should look like it! Well, I've compiled 10 ways to fake it as though you have had 8 hours of sleep, even when you haven't.

1. Hydrate your Skin

Usually when we're tired, our skin will show it by being lackluster and dull. Hydrating your skin is the best first step to waking up your skin. Use a denser, thicker moisturizer that will surely do the trick. Not only will this leave your skin hydrated and awake, but this will also leave a great base for your makeup.

2. Concealer, concealer, concealer.

Concealer is the key to covering up dark circles underneath your eyes. When you're tired, the first place that it can be shown is in that undereye area. Applying your concealer in an upside-down triangle underneath your eyes is a great way to really brighten up your face.

3. Dewy foundation or Tinted Moisturizer

Being tired does not mean that you should have dull, lifeless skin. Putting on a matte foundation is probably not the best choice for your sleepless days. Any foundation that has a dewy finish is preferred because dewy/sheer skin looks healthier and makes you appear more awake.

4. Line your Lower Lashes

Lining your lower lash line is perfect for days that you're tired. This is one of my favorite tricks, but don't use just any color! Using a nude or white eyeliner in your waterline helps makes your eyes appear bigger and brighter. I personally prefer using a nude color because it looks more natural and beige or nude colors does a better job at canceling out any redness of the eyes. If you want a more noticeable look, white eyeliner will definitely do the trick.

5. Curl Those Lashes

Curling your lashes is a great way to help you appear less tired. I love curling my lashes and that using a voluminous mascara because I notice that it really helps my eyes appear more open.

6. Illuminate that Foundation

Not only do you want a dewy foundation but because you look tired, you might want to go the extra mile. I like to put liquid illuminator and mix it in with my foundation, it makes your skin look even more awake and brightened.

7. Stay Light on the Lips

For days that you are tired, it's probably best to go for a light pink, rosy or nude lipstick. The colors in your natural complexion are always much more flattering than a dark lipstick. Dark lips add years to our face and they also can add attention to your under-eye area. Lip gloss also is great for those days.

8. Arch Your Brows

Having full, arched brows takes the attention away from the center of your face, where your tired eyes would be. It also helps make your eyelids appear lifted. It is perfect for those sleepless nights.

25 Things that All Beauty Addicts Can Relate To

I am declaring, without shame, that I am a beauty addict. And if you're reading this, you must, in some way, love makeup as well. I am more than obsessed and addicted to makeup and I don't feel bad about that in any way. Makeup is a way to express myself creatively. You may not see the relationship you have with your makeup to be a problem, but you may be addicted. And if you can relate to more than one of these, you probably are.

1. Your favorite place in the world is Sephora, or any other makeup store.

2. You get super excited opening up and trying new beauty products.

3. You feel weird leaving the house without your makeup bag.

4. Taking care of your skin is very important because you want your makeup to look its best.

5. You accumulate at least five lipsticks and lip-glosses in your purse at all times.

6. You still have time to remove your makeup, cleanse your face & moisturize even when stumbling in at 4am in the morning.

7. You're constantly looking for new places to store your makeup.

8. Nothing makes you happier than when your makeup is perfect.

9. You have no shame in asking someone what highlight they have on.

10. Once in a while, you find a makeup product that you forgot to try & wonder how that ever happened.

11. Running into the drugstore to pick up one thing turns into a half hour strolling in the beauty aisle.

12. All of your friends and family ask you for makeup advice.

13. You count down the days until a new makeup product launches.

14. You put 20 items in your cart online and then realize that you don't have the money for all of that, bringing you back to earth.

15  You own more than 10 makeup brushes. No brush is the same!

16. No matter how many palettes you have, when a new one is released, you feel compelled to buy it.

17. Nothing feels better than putting on your favorite lipstick.

18. You want to hurt someone when they tell you that you don't need another nude lipstick.

19. You know the difference between BB, CC and DD creams.

20. Creating a new makeup look makes you feel like picasso.

21. The words "limited edition" makes you want to buy 100 of them.

22. Getting ready for a night out creates a mess that takes a hefty time cleaning up in the morning.

23. You don't mind eating Ramen noodles for dinner if it means buying that new, pretty expensive foundation.

24. It still takes about a half hour to get an all natural "I woke up like this" look.

25. You can easily spend hours on Youtube watching makeup tutorials.

So, what's the verdict? Are you addicted to beauty as much as I am? Probably.
