In What Order Do You Apply Your Makeup?

The other day, a friend of mine asked me, "In what order do you apply makeup?"

Every makeup artist has their own way that they prefer to apply makeup and I don't believe there is any "correct" order to apply makeup. It's your preference, whatever floats your boat.

Personally, when I am applying eye makeup, I like to get that out of the way first, so that any fallout can be easily removed without removing my foundation or concealer.

Here's the usual order of my makeup:

1. Eyeshadow primer
2. Eyeshadow
3. Primer
4. Eyeliner
5. Mascara or Falsies
6. Foundation
7. Concealer
8. Face Powder or Setting Powder
9. Contour
10. Bronzer
11. Blush
12. Highlight

Day 16: My Views on Mainstream Music

Mainstream music, I am guessing, is what you mostly hear on the radios. I'm not going to act super chic and special and say that I don't like mainstream music because I do.

However, I do like music that doesn't make it to the radio. Some of the greatest songs are by artists that aren't very known and haven't made it big yet. It's something about the authenticity of the song. I believe that once artists or bands are signed to a label and are very well known, it's easy to lose the true artistry of their work and simply, create hits.

Day 14: My Earliest Memory

My earliest memory is kind of weird and I'm not even sure if it is a memory or a dream. But I have this clear memory of me being in a stroller and going into an elevator with my mom and some women and they all started pinching my cheeks and talking to me all at once.

I have no idea why I actually remember this because nothing interesting or life changing occurred, but this is the earliest memory.

Day 13: Somewhere You'd Like to Move or Visit

I'd like to move anywhere with nice weather all year long. New York's weather sucks most of the year.

I'd like to visit so many places around the world, I can't even think of just one place. Let's just say, the whole world.

Day 10: My First Love & My First Kiss

Just in advance, I apologize for missing two days of this 30 Day Challenge. It proved to be harder than I expected with Mother's Day being this weekend and other events that I needed to attend. But I'm going to roll with the punches and keep it moving!

So, my first love and my first kiss. Wouldn't it be just perfect if your first kiss was with your first love? But, the world isn't perfect.

My first real kiss, was with my ex-boyfriend. Nothing romantic and sort of gross, now that I think of it. His name was Bernardo. I was 13 years old, I can't even believe that. Looking back at it, I was so young and so inexperienced and so was he. We probably looked dumb at the time. But, anything remotely romantic at that age, was stupid and superficial. Our relationship was childish and didn't last for long, thank God.

My first love, on the other hand, would have to be my boyfriend. With him, is where I found true love and realized what love really is. I don't take the words, "I love you" lightly and with him, it's so effortless. Love is something beyond yourself. You can read more about my relationship here!

Day 07: My Zodiac Sign & If It Fits My Personality

Leo

My zodiac sign is Leo (July 23rd-August 22nd). Some traits or characteristics that Leos are known for is their masculinity, warm spirit and their love for receiving attention or affection. The sign of Leo depicts power and majesty. They are said to have "lazy ambition and strength" meaning that they are ambitious, but use their power and ambition in times of need. They love being the center of attention, are very social beings and appreciated being flowered with affection and gifts. They are kind and when in relationships, they are extremely passionate. They strive for power and social standing and can be very influential if they want. They are also known for their generous nature. They love to shower those whom they love with gifts.

Leos also are known to be arrogant and aggressive. They are very passionate so when they feel a negative emotion, they really feel it. They are very particular about money related issues and they also have a big ego, which can be a problem for others. They do not take criticism easy and take critiques to heart because they are usually sensitive at heart. They can also seem to be melodramatic to others, however, this is because they feel each emotion very intensely.

I'm not sure if I believe in zodiac signs, but I do find eerie similarities with my sign's characteristics and myself and also with others. I usually look up someone's zodiac sign to see if it fits their personality and usually, it does. As far as the Leo goes, I think I do fit my zodiac sign well. With both the positive and negative traits, it pretty much, describes me.

Day 05: A Time I Thought About Ending My Own Life

I, honestly, never seriously thought about committing suicide. I've been through hard times, where I asked myself why my life was the way it was. I've had times where I've been extremely depressed and angry at everything and everyone. I've had plenty of those times. I just never really thought about ending my life. I've always had a good sense that life has it's ups and it's downs and eventually, things will get better. I also never really thought that my problems were worth dying over. Not that they weren't serious problems but I felt as though life is too precious and my family doesn't deserve to feel the grief and pain of my death.

Everyone's life is different and everyone is going through something, small or big. We need to have compassion for others because we never know what they may be going through. Whenever I'm feeling down about life, I usually take a breath, slow things down and realize that it could be worse. There is always someone that has it worse than you. And that doesn't make your problems any less significant, but it helps to put things in perspective.

Suicide is not a light subject and I am grateful that I don't know anyone that is suicidal. But the topic of suicide is complex and beyond my grasp. I can only hope to be someone's outlet if anyone in my life ever needs me.

Day 04: My Views On Religion

I believe that everyone gets the choice to believe in whatever or whomever they want. If someone chooses to believe in a God, multiple Gods or no God, who am I to judge or to tell them that they're wrong?

I grew up in a family that was not religious, but I always wanted to be. I begged my father to bring me to church a few times, which he did, until he didn't anymore. Luckily for me, my family put me into an all-girl Catholic high school. I was eager to learn everything about religion and Catholicism, I even remember asking a girl if she could write down the prayers that everyone would say during the day. I learned them quickly and I tried to learn as much as I could. However, in religion class, I was never comfortable. I found myself questioning many things and couldn't let go of these questions. I didn't like the answers that my teachers would give me because they didn't seem like actual answers. Before I knew it, I found myself disliking Catholicism and it's beliefs. I never quite understood it.

Soon, I realized that many Christian denominations were too similar to Catholicism. Personally, I haven't found a religion that I would feel comfortable following. Whenever I'm asked about religion, I usually say that I don't believe in religion, but I believe in a God or a higher being of some sort. I feel as though many religions are a form of power or control over their people. I find that religions are extremely contradicting, with rules and regulations of what you "shouldn't be." I also see many religious people that do cruel things to others, because of their religious beliefs. I don't believe in any of that. However, I would never bash anyone for believing in any religion. Your beliefs may not be mine but they are still equally as important.

Even though I say I believe in God, that's something that I still struggle with everyday. I want to feel comfortable with that idea and possibly in the future, comfortable with a religion. At the moment, however, I believe I'm a good person and God would be able to see that. That's all.

Day 03: My Views on Drugs & Alcohol

I think it's up to people if they want to partake in any alcohol or drugs. Personally, I enjoy a drink socially from time to time and I don't do any drugs. That doesn't mean that I look down on those who decide to.

Overall, I believe that your body is meant to be taken care of. There is a thin line between enjoying alcohol socially and relying on it. I think when alcohol is drunk responsibly and in moderation, I think it's acceptable.

How you treat your body is how your body will treat you. People sometimes take their health for granted. With drug use, I think it's important to stay clear of drugs. Drugs have temporary "benefits" and do long term damage, physically and mentally.

I'm not going to say "Just Say No", but you catch my drift.

What are your views on this topic? Let me know.

Day 02: Where I'd Like to Be in 10 Years

In ten years, I'm going to be 31 years old. If you would've asked me this question years ago, I would've probably been able to give you a full, detailed plan of where I would like to be. Now, being slightly older, I now know that it isn't that simple.

There's only a couple things that I would like to have accomplished by 31 years old.

In ten years time, I'd like to have my career in place

The first and most important thing that I would like to have complete by 31 years old is my career. I would like to already have a position, doing what I love, in my profession. I would like to be successful in what I am doing and also, most importantly, enjoying what I am doing.

In ten years time, I'd like to own my own home.

I want to own my own home by 31 years old. This might be difficult to accomplish but it would definitely be ideal. I want to live in a spacious, cozy home. Not too big of a home, maybe a three bedroom house. I want to have a backyard, big enough to have a dog and kids play. And a pool, can't forget about the pool.

In ten years time, I would like to have traveled the world

No, I don't mean the entire world, of course. But I would like to have started to travel and see different places. The world is too big to be cooped up in one city for your whole life. I want to travel to different cities, different beautiful places and experience different cultures and people.

In ten years time, I'd like to have started my own family.

By 31 years old, I would love to already be married to my hunny and have a child. Ideally, I would want to have two kids, so I'd probably be working on my second. I also want a dog, definitely. Probably the cutest, friendliest dog known to man.

Now you know my life plan, what's yours? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Day 01: My Current Relationship

Where do I start?

I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend for almost 5 years now. It seems like just yesterday though, that I first saw him. It wasn't love at first sight. Our story wasn't entirely like a fairytale. The way we fell in love is kind of funny and embarrassing at the same time, but I won't bore you with all those details.

When I say it wasn't a fairytale, I mean that when I first met him, we didn't pay much attention to each other. We met through a mutual friend and he was always, well, there. He was just a guy I knew and I was just a girl he knew. We weren't interested in each other until we actually got to know each other. At that point, it did quickly become a fairytale. It seemed almost like a puzzle piece, he just seemed to fit. Our first real conversation was insane. We had a "Where have you been?" moment and I truly noticed him for the first time. Some parts are blurry and I can't remember every detail clearly now, but I do remember that it was a turning point in my life. That time in my life is something that I hold really close to my heart.

Over the 5 years, we've changed so much. Our relationship and the individuals that we are have changed. It's nice to spend your life with someone and be able to change and mature alongside them. We started dating when we were only 17 years old and now, it seems as though that was forever ago. Being at an age now where we're adults and making real life decisions for ourselves, it's crazy to think that we met at such a different place in our lives.

I don't know how to describe him. He is everything  that I would want in a man and everything that I need. It's insane. There isn't one quality or trait that I would change about him. He's not perfect and we are total opposites. I guess, the phrase, "Opposites attract" really does apply here. However, I think, when you are able to find someone that compliments you and makes you a better version of yourself, is when you know that you've found someone for you. He's incredibly smart, funny and charming, he challenges me, he makes me better... the list goes on but the most important thing is, he's my best friend.

Our relationship, by no means, is perfect. We do have arguments and sometimes annoy the shit out of each other. But that's normal and it's a part of being in a relationship. Every relationship, whether it's your friends, family or significant others will have it's ups and downs. What's important is finding someone that you are willing to have those downs with.

I couldn't imagine my life without him. After being with someone and spending years of your life with them, they become a part of you. You share special moments and a special bond with them. Certain places, songs, phrases and scents will remind you of them. Having someone that you're proud to call your someone, is special.

Maybe relationships aren't supposed to be how they appear in the movies or in a fairytale story. As much as I would love to believe that life is a romance movie, it isn't. But luckily, I've found someone who makes me feel as though it is.

30 Day Blogging Challenge

So, I decided, for the month of May, that I would embark on this 30 Day Blogging Challenge. This picture shows the 30 posts that I'm supposed to write every day for the month of May. Each day is assigned a different, random post.

This might be somewhat hard, with the end of my semester coming, but I'm willing to accept the challenge. One of the main reasons why I want to do this is so that you can get to know me better. Some of these posts are very random, something that I wouldn't even think to write about and hopefully, I can actually come up with quality writing.

We shall see..

I  challenge any blogger that reads this post.. Do This Challenge!
